What is a Florida product approval? The Florida Product Approval Number is more commonly known and read as The “FL #” and are set, for all construction trades, by the state as a measurement to determine if the product meets state requirements including high velocity hurricane zones, HVHZ.

Metal Alliance Approvals
Our trusted partner Metal Alliance, offers a wide variety of Florida Product Approvals, including HVHZ (High-Velocity Hurricane Zones) and Miami-Dade NOAs. 
HVHZ is a special section of the Florida Building Code (2020 FBC) which lays out special codes which apply to these counties . Miami-Dade, Broward Counties or Coastal Palm Beach County, are a HVHZ. Sections of the HVHZ are more stringent than non-HVHZ.
